Starkey Pumping Plant is fitted with four submersible pumps each with a 24,000 gallon per minute pumping capability, increasing the plant’s capacity to 140 million gallons per day. CEI assessed and performed strengthening design using Carbon Fiber Composite to address structural deficiency due to deflection and cracking. The slab and beam cracks were injected with structural epoxy and a protective deck coating was applied to the exterior slab to prevent future moisture penetration into the slabs and beams. CEI was responsible for the structural design, drawing and specification preparation, construction management, and special inspection services for all repair/strengthening work.
